He is widely known as an American professional basketball player who was considered to be one of the best centers in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the team San Antonio Spurs. His career was active from 1989 to 2003, when he retired. He is also recognized by his nickname “The Admiral”, since he was an officer in the US Navy.

David Robinson is the son of Ambrose Robinson and Freda. His father was an officer in the US Navy, so they had to move frequently. When his father retired, they settled in Woodbridge, Virginia, where David attended the Osbourn Park High School, being among the best in all sports, except the basketball – since he was only 5 feet and 9 inches(1m72) tall, he struggled a lot. In the previous season, Spurs had the worst season in franchise history, but that all changed once Robinson stepped onto the basketball court.
